Practice Manager - Alliza Marino

Alliza has been apart of the Maraboon family since October 2014. She is currently the Practice Manager of both the Maraboon Vet Surgery and Maraboon Pet Resort. Being apart of the Maraboon Pet Resort dream since the beginning, Alliza has worked closely with Angi and Alec to ensure the facility runs efficiently and effectively. With high regard for customer service, Alliza ensures services are managed and received for both the clients and their pets. Look out for Alliza's husky Leia while at the resort as she likes to welcome and play with the doggy guests in the exercise yards! 

Receptionist/Resort Manager - Robyn Adams 

Robyn grew up on a hobby farm with many different animals and thoroughly enjoyed helping the family look after them all. She has carried this passion with her and moved from Brisbane to central Queensland in 2014 with her family and they have No Regrets. Robyn has many years of customer service experience and she prides herself on making sure all our clients and four legged guests’ enjoy their stay with us. Robyn loves spending time with her family and has passed on her passion for animals to her 4 wonderful children raising them with a large array of pets over the years. Robyn was promoted to Manager in 2022 and loves her new position, she is very happy to help answer any questions all our amazing clients may have.

GROOMING TEAM

Senior Groomer and Boarding Assistant - Andrea Hales

‘Andy’ joined the MPR team in June 2019. Andrea is a fully qualified vet technician (Vet Nurse) who completed her degree in 2016. With an extensive background working in the animal industry and having worked at other boarding kennels, Andy is a fabulous addition to our team! Andy is one of our very talented Groomers after completing an extensive training course and now she can’t wait to show off her new skills! Andy is also in charge of all animal boarding at MPR and we cannot think of a more qualified and caring person to have in this position! With a big smile on her face and a happy, quirky personality, all the animals absolutely love Andy! At home, Andy adores spending time with her two fabulous dogs Pia the Pei and Wacko Jacko.

Groomer - Cara Ludlow

Cara has been a familiar face around the Central Highlands area for a just few years now. She was born in Clermont then lived in Blackwater for 11 years and has been in Emerald since 2007. She has always had a passion for animals and wanted to begin working in the Animal industry for as long as she can remember. Cara has completed her grooming studies and is one of our senior groomers in house! She'll also help with reception and Doggy Day Care when she has a spare minute! She is such a happy and bubbly person that brings a smile to everyone’s face. Cara loves all dogs and cats but has a soft spot Staffies and Collies. She has 2 very high energy boys, 1 very high energy dog and 4 chickens to take care of. When she is not busy working she loves spending time with her boys motorbike riding, camping, swimming and gardening.

Groomer - Lilly Worthington

Lilly is the newest member to our grooming team and what a welcome addition she has been. Lilly is currently underdoing her training to become a qualified groomer and has completed her first qualification in dog grooming! She is able to conduct plush baths and basic grooms/clips and demaults. Lilly is originally from Mildura but lived for a while in Mackay on a farm, surrounded by chickens, pigs, ducks, guinea pigs and sugar cane. Lilly has always wanted to work with hair (on animals or people) and jumped at the chance to become a dog groomer. Lilly takes a lot of pride in being able to deliver a high quality finished groom and we are so excited to see how her trade develops! At home you'll find her drawing, reading or watching movies.

Senior Boarding Attendant - Ashleigh Hoy

Ashleigh grew up on her family property, developing a love for all animals, but especially dachshunds. Ash's calm and caring nature makes her perfect for caring for your pets while you are away. Ashleigh joined us back in 2018, bringing lots of animal handling experience to our team. She enjoys giving our guests a little extra love and cuddles while they stay with us. When Ash isn't at the Pet Resort, she enjoys spending time on the property with her family and her fur baby, Daisy.

Boarding Assistant - Riley Conlon

Riley joined our boarding and DDC team in 2024 and has brought with him a contagious, happy personality that our guests just love! Riley has lived in Emerald for 17 years and has always loved animals and caring for them. The list of animals he has owned and raised in nearly endless, being drawn to all different species - snakes, lizards, fish, axolotl, turtles, birds, chickens, ducks, rats and guinea pigs! You'll often find him in the kennels with a smile on his face, no matter what! Our canine and feline guests absolutely love Riley and get spoilt when they are in his care. At home Riley has a beautiful fiance, 2 kids and loves to cook, watch movies and be surrounded by his animals. 

Boarding Assistant - Ned Wills

Boarding Assistant - Copelan Smith

Copelan is an Emerald local who joined us originially in 2020 at the Maraboon Pet Resort, as one of our resort animal attendants. Impressing us with her hard work ethic, mature attitude and great animal handling skills, Copelan has since completed her Cert II traineeship at MVS to become a veterinary nurse and is currently in training for her Cert IV. Copelan would love to be a vet one day but for now is loving the experience in clinic and at the resort as one of our juniors.  When asked what her favourite part of being at the resort is, all Copelan could say was Puppies, Puppies and Puppies! - and she's not wrong, she's a natural when it comes to all things dog! Outside of work, you'll find Copelan playing footy on weekends and snagging all the cuddles from her 3 dogs, Yeti, Sugar and Neville. 

Boarding Assistant - Ondrea Yates

Oni completed her grade 10 work experience with us and blew our socks off with her willingness to work and bubbly personality. She then went on to work for us as a Junior Boarding Assistant and helping with Doggy Day Care as well. Oni has always wanted to work in the animal industry and takes pride in being able to take care of animals. Oni has since graduated school, completed her Certificate II in Animal Studies with us and and is currently undergoing her bachelor degree. You'll find Oni back with us on her holidays. Her favourite part of her role is greeting all the excited pets as they come in to stay with us. When Oni is not at school or work, she enjoys playing netball and spending time with her friends and family.

Boarding Assistant - Felicity Pethers

Felicity has been a part of the Maraboon team for quite a while, working across the vet clinic and pet resort. Felicity started out with us as a Grade 10 work experience student who made a fantastic impression on us. She is currently studying her Certificate II in Animal Care, is so passionate about working in the animal industry and her favourite department is Doggy Day Care! She has big plans to become a vet one day and loves working at the resort with all the guests! At home, Flick gets involved on the family farm and has two dogs, Curly and Chuckles. 

Boarding Assistant - Alarna Wills

Many of you may already know Alarna as she is a familiar face around Emerald. We were lucky enough to have Alarna join our team in 2024, coming on board to help in the boarding and DDC departments. Alarna's bestie, Jack (the Jack Russell) has been a regular at DDC for quite some time, so it was only natural that Alarna become involved too! Alarna has been in Emerald since 2005, having moved from Noosa and is a qualified hairdresser who has also been working in the education system for the past 13 years. Having always loved being around animals, and owning 3 dogs herself, Alarna jumped at the chance to be a part of the Maraboon Pet Resort team, which our guests are most grateful for - they adore Alarna! At home, Alarna enjoys going to the gym, being outdorrs and going on adventures with her family. 

Junior Boarding Assistant - Jasmine Cook

Jas completed her grade 10 work experience with us in 2022 and began her School based traineeship with the Maraboon Vet Team shortly after. Since then she came on board the Maraboon Pet Resort team in 2023. Jas has a huge passion for animals and their health care. When Jas is working at the pet resort she is in the boarding department, giving the animals lots of pats and cuddles. Jas is in year 11 and is currently completing her Cert II in Animal Care. After graduation, Jas wants to pursue her passion for veterinary nursing further and work fulltime in the veterinary industry. Outside of work  Jas likes ot hangout with friends, spend time with family and play with her dog, Buddy! 

Junior Boarding Assistant - Kellie Harrison

Kellie is one of our juniors who came on board with us after making a huge impression on her Grade 10 work placement. Kellie is an extremely hard worker who has been drawn to the animal industry since she was little. So naturally we had to have her on our team! She is an Emerald local who surrounds herself with animals, being dogs, cats or horses. She is a horse show-jumping competitor so on weekends you'll find her on horseback or spending time with her family. With her eyes set on a future veterinary nurse career, we anticipate that you'll be seeing lots of Kellie's face in the years to come. 

Junior Boarding Assistant - Tilly Brunker

Tilly is one of our amazing juniors who joined the team in 2023! She is an Emerald local who is currently a high school student, working for us in the afternoons and weekends. When it comes to pet care, Tilly is a natural. She is an extremely hard worker, who is always up for extra pet cuddles, so every pet under her care is in good hands. Tilly's hobbies include dancing and netball and to her there is nothing better than wathcing 'Friends' reruns while eating ravioli or lasagna! At home she has 2 adorable pooches, Cora and Remi who are visiting the Pet Resort also! Say hello to Tilly next time you are visiting the resort!
